About This Chapter
As soon as she realizes what has happened, the Governess rushes to the scene of the crime and stabs Edmund, who is still unconscious. The Governess is horrified at what she has done and begs her not to mention that she has stabbed someone. She tells him that she would not have been in pain if he had died, and she begs him to remember that he has done nothing wrong. She then tells him to stop talking about her and to forget about the incident with Celia.
