The witch who guards the forest tells the boy that he is welcome to come and eat the flesh of the undead. He asks her if she is their master, and she tells him that she is. The boy asks her to protect him, but the witch says that she can do nothing about it. She tells him to see her father, who has passed away, and asks him to ask for help. She says that there are lots of pursuers looking for him, and that the Queen of Vampires is waiting for him or her not far away.
