In this chapter, we learn that the emperor of the fallen star palace, Lin Xun, has been trying to woo the archbishop of the palace, the master of "the falling star" . In the end, the former emperor's plans have come to pass. The two men have agreed to have a drink together, and the cat asks why he is there. The cat asks if they have a drug that makes people lose their love. The answer is that they do, but they don't use it as an antidote. They have another drug called "love - forgetfulness liquor" that they use to help people forget their love, but the cat doesn't want to use it, because it might have some negative side effects. He tells the cat that if he were to kill him and get the skeleton fan, he would be able to liberate all of the treasures. He also says that even though Lin is able to do evil, he can't destroy the whole of the world yet. For the cat, this means that he is the one who took the treasure from the emperor and the key from the prince. He says that Lin is in danger because he hates the "falling star" and because he thinks they are "enchanting people" with their spells. He promises to go to the palace and be Lin's bodyguard.
