About This Chapter
The young master asks why the young master didn't tell him about the treasure before he came. The master tells him that he doesn't want to be punished for stealing the wine, so he's going to give him a surprise: the wine is his favorite wine. The wine is expensive, so the master has to pay for it. He also tells the master that the pearl has weakened a bit, but that's because it's been used for healing. He says that he used to suffer a lot before he got the pearl, but after he got it, he was able to heal a lot of diseases. He asks if there's a relationship between the water monster and the treasure, and the master answers that there isn't. He adds that he'd only help one person at a time, and he won't help anyone more than that. He then asks the master what he wants to know about the pearl. He's heard that someone cultivates the pearl on purpose, but the master points out that it would be dangerous to use it on purpose. The pearl would be poisonous, he says, if we used it to poison the plants and flowers. But if we made the pearl into medicine, it would cure all sorts of diseases, and it wouldn't cost a lot. He tells the prince that he should have abandoned the pearl earlier. The prince asks him what he would do if he were to ask him a question: "an unforgettable first love, a fox, a treasure, a highness, a young master, your, which one friend, and your family, would you choose?"
