This chapter opens with a soliloquy in which we learn that mian has given up suicide because of what mian said to her. He then turns to mian and asks her to show him the light so that he can see that he is not alone. mian tells mian that she is the light in the darkness and that she can bring hope to the people around her. She then asks mian why he did it, and mian says that he hopes he can change the tragedies that he has experienced. He says that his mother died, his father neglected him, and his step-mother was indifferent. He also says that there are lots of memories that he hates to remember, but that no one would ever forget that night when mian reminded him of his love. . , he says, he can feel the happiness of talking with people he loves and doing things he likes.
