The narrator tells us that he's been having a bad day. He accidentally dropped a pole and had to eat eggshells. He's also been hit by a piece of chalk in class, so his gym clothes have disappeared. He apologizes to the teacher, who tells him to wipe the top of his clothes and wipe the bottom. The teacher comes back, and they have to clean the room. The narrator apologizes again and tells the teacher to lower his voice so he won't get wet. He tells the girl to stay away from him, but she doesn't seem to want to be near him. The girl says she'll return his clothes later, and the narrator says he'll give them to her. He asks the girl if she likes her confession, and she says she does, and he asks her how she feels about the confession. She says she feels like he gets "confused about human emotion" because he tries to pursue her.
