In this chapter, we learn that the curse of the numbers on mom has driven Victor into despair. He realizes that the number on his mom is an omen, and that anyone who is close to him will have a number on them. He also learns that his mom has been acting like a ghost, playing tricks on everyone. He wants to know what's going on with her, but he can't find out. He decides to take her to an infirmary.
