The next morning, sol wakes up to find that he has won the battle. He's glad that he did, because it means that he's done well in the war. He tells himself that if it were his brother, he'd have won anyway. He says that the queen has finally thrown in the towel on the war, and that they need to wait until the new queen is crowned before they can harvest opium. The old man says that he crossed the line and that his daughter will get the protection she needs from the queen's family. He apologizes for crossing the line, and says that it's his daughter's turn to be queen. He goes on to say that he wishes that he had never crossed it, because now that she's queen, she'll be able to do whatever she wants with her life. He can't believe that the old man is still in the palace. He yells at sol to get out of the way, and then yells again at him to get away. Then he yells more and yells louder until he finally gets to the point. He screams at sol, saying that he clearly ordered him not to return to the palace and that he still dares to come back in there. He shouts more and more until he gets to sol's point, which is that he doesn't know what's going on between him and hui. He wants to know why hui is suddenly asking him to speak to him. He tries to explain everything to sol, but he cannot. He just wants to protect the queen, and sol is his second priority. That's the difference between him
