The man asks if he has a birthday present for the son, and he replies that it is his birthday present. He then asks if the son has said that he didn't go out at night because there were wild beasts. The boy replies that he did, and that he feels carefree when he looks at the stars at night. He says that he has never felt anything at all, and asks if his mind is full of thoughts. The mother replies that she has no idea what he is talking about, but that he carries the tone of the medieval noble. She says that she doesn't tan while she is out fishing, but she does tan when she is. She also says that the gem on the boy's clothes seems to be an inheritance from a large family, and she says that if the boy has the gem examined, he will be able to trace his lineage back to his family. He stares at the gem and wonders if he is an heir to a distinguished family.
