In Chapter 18, we learn that the two of them have won a lot of money at the casino. They're not the only ones who've been cheating, though. We learn that they've won money from random people, too, and that's just the way poker is played. It's expected that someone's going to get hurt when they achieve their goal, and they're going to break it off if they don't like each other. The two guys have a little spat about whether or not it's a good idea to play poker from the casino, since the odds of winning are determined by the casino's roulette wheel. The first thing they notice is that the girl who just won the most money is playing poker from a different table than the guy who just lost the most. They decide to play a random game of poker to see if they can figure out how to beat the girl, but they can't because she's too good at it. The guy who won the first game is a good player, but he's not good enough to beat a girl who's won more money than anyone else in the world. He's got to play another random game to beat her, and this time, the girl won't let him win. He wants to win again, and he wants to know if the girl is trying to figure out if he and the girl are cheating.
