In this chapter, we meet a new character named Mariane. Mariane is a wizard, just like the other characters in the book. She is the one who created the world and sent Mariane to it. She tells Mariane that her name is Mariane and that she can finally meet her. She introduces herself as a wizard and explains that she is also a wizard. She explains that Mariane was able to enter the world because she was sent there by Mariane's creator, the painter. She asks Mariane if she likes the place, and Mariane tells her that she does, but that she feels scared. She says that she looks up to Mariane, because she never thought that a ritual actually worked in this place. She also says that the painting she saw in the window was a broomstick, and that it was called an airplane. She wants to know what Mariane can do for Mariane in exchange, and asks if she can paint Mariane the world she has been living in. He says that he was asked to do this by Miss hana, who asked him to paint her a world of magic. He explains that the days he spent with Mariane were "such precious moments" and that he always wrote about them in a book. He adds that he did not write the book because he was not from the world Mariane lived in, but only because he fell under the spell of Mariane
