In this chapter, the reaper explains the concept of life. He explains that he is a mere observer, and that he will eventually be reincarnated as his father. The reaper is unable to understand why it is so difficult for him to be separated from his dead wife. He says that even if she dies, he will be able to see her again after he reincarnates. He wants to be reborn so that he can be himself, not a sick woman.
