Back at the cafe, Jack tells the girl that she's a special case, and that he's just trying to take her soul to the underworld. He's not supposed to meet her directly like this, he says, but he has tried to kill her many times in the past week, and he doesn't want her to hear about it. Jack tells her that she shouldn't forgive him, but that she should try to be more prepared in her last moments. Jack says that they're in Cupid's garden, which is a popular place for lovers to confess their love.
