The reaper tells the audience that he is in the form of a human who has been punished for falling in love with another human. He asks the audience to look carefully at him if he is one of the "real" reapers or givers. The only ones who can see him are the humans about to die, but the reaper is not one of them. He says that technically he is not responsible for the deaths of the other humans because he has been "thrown away by 'the creators' and the world" . He has only one wish: to get back the terra power that he lost when he was killed. He wonders if he feels "betrayed" by the other reaper, who was also punished for loving the human. The reason why he is still alive, he says, is that he needs the lost power to control life.
