About This Chapter
In this chapter, the young girl is introduced to the world of the reaper, and she learns that she is a member of the human race. She also learns that her sister, Morana, is also a reaper. Morana tells the girl that she has been able to see her giver form, and that if she were about to die, she would be able to erase her own memories. The young girl, however, feels that granting her sister's wishes would be a breach of the rules of the underworld, and so she decides to break them. She explains that she and Morana are not reapers, but only givers. They were born as humans, and they were able to reincarnate as reapers because they were the first ones to be born. Moran explains that he and the girl were not born humans, so they were not able to become reapers. Instead, they were born reapers and gave birth to humans. The only difference between them is that they are able to control their own emotions, whereas the human beings are only able to do so because they are the ones who have the power to give birth. In other words, they have the ability to control the emotions of those around them, but they are unable to control those of those who do not have the same power. This is why Morana has to erase all of her memories.
