In this short scene, we learn that Miss Jessel has accepted Christ's invitation to attend the Beauty and the Beast's "audition" . We learn that she is "more of a loser" than previously thought, and that she wants to be "a model" for the first time in her life. We also learn that the "model" she is referring to is none other than "the mo-yu" , who is rumored to be a loser for the past 30 years. The two of them decide to go to the audition together, and Miss Jessell tells her that she will be able to experience "the world of beauties" and "the loneliness of a lonely woman who told you not to sit in the corner where nobody can see you" ; she will also be able "to enjoy the experience" of being a "beauty" and to "stand proud and confident" in front of people who have made fun of her in the past. She also reveals that she has a crush on "the handsome boyfriend" and that he is the reason she is being "made fun of" : "how could mo- yu have such an handsome boyfriend?" . The pair then decide to have a drink together. The narrator tells us that it is good to be beautiful, because the world cares about looks, and treating someone well when they are beautiful will make them treat you well when you are not beautiful.
