In this chapter, Ul-Hyun tries to explain the origins of mirs and reapers. He explains that a mir is like a bond between two eternal beings, and that a reaper is like an eternal bond between a human and a being. He says that he chose to be a mir because his path was already intertwined with Do-Hul's, so he couldn't part with him. He also says that even though he's partly responsible for his friend's death, he'll always be grateful to him.
