Descending Stories

Back at the brothel, sukeroku tells his sis to come visit him soon. He tells her that he has a present for her: he's working as a manzai , a kind of comic performer, and he'd like to talk to her after he dies. He also tells her about the changes that have taken place in the brothel since he left. He says that he never dreamed that he would see the day when he would be able to dance with a yotaro, and that he hopes that he and his sis will live happily ever after. .
