The scene opens with Hiroshi and Soji in a daze. Hiroshi asks Soji to rub his ah with a cloth. Soji does so, and the scene ends with Soji's entrance into the shrine. As he is about to enter, Hiroshi notices that he is in a "trance" . He turns to look at Soji and apologizes for making him so happy earlier in the scene. He tells Soji that he has known him for a long time, and that seeing him happy made him a "mir bit jea ror" , or "laughter bit." Soji tells him that he will be studying at home on New Year's Eve. Everyone invites him to come with them to the shrine, and he agrees
