The sex scene opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous scene, where we learn that the protagonist, Shmoop, has fallen in love with the protagonist's mother, who is pregnant with his child. The scene then shifts to the present day, where the protagonist and his mother are engaged in an argument about whether or not the protagonist should have sex with his mother's child
