In this chapter, we learn that Linghua is very lonely and wishes to find a way to relieve his loneliness. He is willing to lose his original appearance and wear the face of chaolu. He also wants to learn how chaolu speaks so that he can try his best to mimic her. He wants to know if she can make him stay or not. He says that he will let her stay as long as she does not leave him. He tells her that he has cooked some food and asks her to try it. She says that she would not call him master. He laughs at her silly laugh and says that chaolu wouldnt have called him master if he had not been obedient. He goes on to tell her that it is better to obey her than to be obedient to someone else.
