This chapter opens with a dog named "Benefactress" barking at the young master of the village, "Lien Xingyun" . The dog's name, however, is "Linxingyun," and he is a wounded man who has been shot in the leg. The young master is a "social recluse" , and he does not like strangers, so he will not let the wounded man into the village. The wounded man asks the dog if the village has a doctor, and the dog responds that there is one, but that it is too far away. He also tells the young man that he is the son of the family that built the famous "Thunder Fort," and that the village does not pay attention to the outside world.
