In this chapter, we learn that Lin's father still cares about his daughter, despite the fact that she is no longer a member of the family. Lin is still very much in love with her, and he still wishes that he could marry her. He tells his father that he has already arranged his marriage and that he will not marry his uncle's daughter. He also tells him that the guards have seen a man flying from the sky covered in a "dark demonic aura" and that Lin has brought his daughter back from the forest. Lin says that he did not mean to deceive his father, and that the man he met on the way to the forest was asking him to bring him back to the mainland. He is furious that Lin still cares for him, but he realizes that a normal woman would not climb on a roof like that. Lin misses his father the most, he says, because he never treated him badly until the day he let him go.
