In this chapter, Don Pedro delivers a soliloquy in which he laments the fact that Lin-Lung-tian has become so powerful. He laments that he is the only one who will be able to defeat him, and that he has been unable to do so for the past two years. He tells Don Pedro that he will have to kill him in order to do his duty. Don Pedro tells his brother that his grandfather and father will not be in danger because of the protective barrier he has put up against his brother's spiritual power.
