This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the weasel, in which he reveals that he has managed to escape from the lin family. He says that he will bring someone to kill the rds when he returns home, but his injuries are so severe that he can't do so. He also reveals that the rune stone he is using to refine his elixirs isn't strong enough to lure high-quality demon spirits. He explains that he wanted to use the stone to help him find some high-class demon spirits to revive his power, but now that the stone is so weak, he's not able to rely on it. The weasel's grandfather tells him that even if yueshan is a good cultivator of the yuan-dan stage, the family will be able to fend off the attack. He warns the weasel to prepare to die.
