The next morning, Huck finds a piece of rock with a handprint on it and a pale, red liquid oozing from it. Huck's mom has asked him to call his brother home for dinner, and Huck is suspicious that his brother has been secretly roasting sweet potatoes. Huck notices that his father's penetrating fist produces only nine echoes, but his brother's produces ten echoes. Huck is amazed that he can produce five echoes of the penetrating fist, even though his father says he can only produce nine. Huck says that he has never heard anyone achieve this level before.
