The narrator begins this chapter by telling us that he's heard a story about a man who was divorced because his wife lost so much hair. He's also heard about a woman who got a divorce because her husband didn't want her to lose her hair. The narrator asks if he can divorce her, and the man replies that he won't, because he'd rather lose his own hair than have his wife lose it. He also tells us that the narrator has been suffering from insomnia lately, so he started exercising. He asks the narrator why he bought all this equipment, and she tells him that he needs to sharpen his tools. She also tells the narrator that she's going to have a baby soon, and that her aunt is going to be arriving soon. She tells him to go to the doctor, and he agrees. He tells her that his leg is bleeding, and her aunt will be coming soon. He says that his aunt is an omnipotent woman, who can divide our lives into days and weeks and months and years. She's coming soon, he says, and it's time to go see the doctor. He thanks his aunt for being so kind, and says that he can finally go
