Now that the war machines have been defeated, the humans are left to deal with the "rotten" creatures. They're also being attacked by the "pink skinned worms," the "slimeys," and the "Robocops" . Raimo, a servant of the Emperoress, tells John that he's one of the great warriors of legend. John tells him that the biggest threat to humanity is the shadow eggs, which are trapped in the starship that orbits the planet. The only way to defeat them, he tells John, is to use the medusa flower, which reminds him of his "good old meta-buffalo." John tells Raimo that they need to push the incals west toward the pen where they're tame, and then they'll handle the "bergs," the creatures that live in the ocean. John and his friends will use the "mutated medusa" to help them.
