The next morning, the doctor tells Bemy that he's feeling much better. He says he'll use the medicine to flush out the toxins from his body. He adds some bitter herbs to the prescription, and the effect is wonderful. The doctor says he doesn't think the imperial court can do enough to treat the plague, so he uses bitter herbs instead. Bemy is impressed by the doctor's ability to diagnose and treat the sick. He's even more impressed when he sees that the doctor has been ordered to come to the city with a "royal highness" to help with the plague.
