About This Chapter
The narrator and the narrator's friend collins are talking on the street in front of the school, and they're interrupted by the sound of a woman's voice. The narrator asks if the woman is okay, and she says that she is, and that she's just a friend of hers. She tells the narrator that her friend has said something she'd like to visit her, and he says that he's not sure if she would want to visit him in person, but he does want to see her in person. He asks if she is worried about her friend, who's been gone for a week. She says that's fine, but she wonders why he hasn't been feeling well. He says that his fever has gone up, and the sweeper said that it's normal for it to go up. She asks if he said anything to worry about, but the narrator says that at her age, complications are rare, so she doesn't think he'll be worried about it. They talk about the sweeper, who said that there's nothing he can do about the fever, and then the narrator asks what happened to tsuki, who fell to the floor. She's okay, she says, and asks if her friend is okay. He tells her that she should have let her friend take care of it, but that she shouldn't worry about it, because she'll get better soon. He looks at the rice fields and says that if he were a robot, he'd be working in the fields, and life would be as normal as it is now. He's actually a dancer, he says, because he works in fields.
