He realizes that he has made a fool of himself, and he decides to go to his room and shut himself in for a while. He wonders if he has any sex appeal. He asks if he ever had a boyfriend, and the protagonist replies that he had fantasized about having sex with him, but that it was not like he wanted to be with him. He then reads a novel by Hiroshi Hiiragi, which he has started to read on his friend's recommendation. He begins to worry that the rain is getting worse and that he will not be able to go home that night
