This scene opens with the housekeeper lamenting that her son is getting worse and worse and that she is an outsider to her parents' eyes. She wants to know why her birth parents gave her up and why she was not allowed to go to live with them. The housekeeper tells her that her brother gave her a new bag, which she does not deserve. She tells the housekeeper that she will take the bag back to her brother.
