This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Illustrious One. He tells the reader that he has discovered a number of hidden abilities, and that he is worried about the whereabouts of his master. He is worried that he will be killed if he does not return to the Heavenly Land. He begs the reader to spare the master's life. He says that his protective magic weapon has been destroyed, and the danger of staying out for a day is too great. He suggests that they use a Teleportation formation to get back to Heaven, but the reader refuses to believe him, saying that only the Heavenly People can use the Teleportation Formation. He then gives the reader a Tong Xuan jade pendant, which he believes is a magical weapon. The ground is shaking and the formation is about to launch.
