This means that if a man and a woman are caught in a battle, the man's body will be destroyed and the woman's will be eaten by the enemy. The garde, however, has 28 such lances, so they can use them to destroy both the man and his body. The two garde pilots discuss how they will use the 28 lances to kill the man. They also discuss the fact that the man has been eaten and is in critical condition. They decide to use the cannon to repel the enemy and save the man, but they also decide that they will have to use a parachute to get the man out of harm's way.
