About This Chapter
The Parsians, led by the Duke of Arimathea, have been traveling through the countryside in search of the shah, but they have not been able to find him. They are afraid that if they steal from him, they will be the ones to be punished. The parsians ask if the king would consider their rescue, but the king says that they are not king or regents of the island. He says that he is sure that the king will understand, but that he will not be able to persuade the king to give them any more time to discuss the matter. He also says that the parsian army is not interested in invading the island, and that they will march if they have to. He suggests that the coming battle will include tactics that differ from those favored by his father, and he says that his father would not allow such tactics to be used. He then suggests that they should forget the tribe that serves the royal family, and instead focus on fighting the sceptres. He adds that the elders of the village are handling the situation well, but he will think about it later. They will not regroup until the battle is over, he says, and then they will go home.
