About This Chapter
The Parsian camp has been attacked by a band of lusitans, and the Parsians have lost most of their men. Arsal has promised to return to his homeland, but he is not there yet. He tells his servant, Jaswant, that he must stay in the kingdom of the truncheon and not worry about the peace treaty with the king of the Turkish kingdom, King rajendra. The king asks why he signed such a treaty with a man who is not a friend to him. He says that it is useless for a king to have an eternal friendship with someone who splits his own hairs, and that he will have to retake the capital of the kingdom by himself. The parsian prince says that he has saved his life three times on the battlefield, but that he cannot serve the king because he is a sind. He thanks his servant for saving his life on each occasion, and says that they have been friends since they were small and that they are like brothers
