About This Chapter
The Parsian traveler, the son of a chieftain, tells the Parsians that they are the ones who have been overrun by the lusitians. The parsians, he says, are waiting to see what happens, but they already know that there is no army in the area. He tells the travelers to kill all the heathens, and to not leave anyone alive either. The son of the chieftain asks the traveler to search for his missing sister. He says that the old man wanted her to marry him and become the next chieftain. The traveler says that his old man hated him, and mutters that he never seemed to be sorry for anything that he did to him. The man who painted the painting says that he would one day be court painter.
