About This Chapter
Narsus tells Harish that he has nothing to fear from the Parsians. Even if they try to kill him, he will be loyal to them. He says that he cannot sell his country to them, so he will dedicate himself to Harish after he has relieved him of his head. If it is Harish's highness that wants him to do so, he can do so as Harish wishes. He adds that he had prepared several strategies to defend Harish and the others, and one turned out to have been a useful one. Harish had sworn his allegiance to the king, but Harish called him "the pitiful prince" and admitted that he did not do anything wrong in killing him. Now that he can think of it rationally, he feels something of sadness in Harish as well. When the war is over, he promises to tell Harish everything.
