The narrator arrives in the countryside and is shocked to find a hole in the ground where he used to find vegetables. He is also shocked to learn that the underground laboratory where he works is equipped with high-tech equipment. The narrator is amazed that he has been able to learn so much from the laboratory and that he is now able to use the equipment to his advantage.
