About This Chapter
The captain explains that he was lucky to be able to keep his identity a secret because the situation was very dangerous and he didn't want to expose himself. He feels that the murderer owes all of his survival to one word: luck. The captain asks if he can express his feelings about the murderer, and the captain replies that he can't express it. He says that he doesn't have the experience to solve a murder case, but he has a lot of experience solving murder cases. He thinks that the method of killing is not very efficient because the murderer is too stubborn. He suggests that they run the dna sample through the police dna database to see if a match can be made between the murderer's blood and that of the victim. They'll have to wait until the next morning to run the sample, but the captain says that they can do it right away. He tells the captain that the little girl lying on the dissection table was raped, and that she could have died. She fought constantly to get to school and earn money, but she couldn't because she was bullied and ignored. She's one lucky brat, she says.
