About This Chapter
"Bek doo restaurant" is the title of this chapter's dialogue. It's a reference to a famous line from Shakespeare's play Hamlet, in which Hamlet says, "I am the king of the world, and the world is my oyster." The dialogue in this chapter, however, is a bit different. Instead of being a soliloquy about Hamlet's life, the dialogue is about an artist named Omidyar who is working on his own art. The artist tells the waiter that he's been working on a few projects, but that he hasn't finished them yet. The waiter asks if the artist's name is "Omidyar," and the artist tells him that it's "Hisao." The waiter tells the artist that if he ever wants to see him again, he can do so at the coffee shop where they've just met. When the waiter realizes that the artist is under arrest, he asks the bartender to get some help for him. The bartender tells the bartender that they have two black and white men in the back of the restaurant, and that they need to make sure they capture the artist.
