In this chapter, the narrator tells us that the little master has been engaged, and that he plans to take back his son someday. The narrator then tells us about the fake bodies of the two children of the marquis. The first child is small and thin, the second child is malnourished, and the third child has a deformed hand. He speculates that the child must have been bought from famine-stricken families in the offshore village of Liaozhou, which is ruled by the current emperor, Prince quan. The current emperor did not have the power to rule, so the second prince was sent to the offshore area to be merciful. The previous brain-eating maggots, strange snakes, and so on were probably related by the previous prince. The next question is whether or not the prince's minions have been sabotaging the missing children cases.
