In this chapter, Bai tells us that she doesn't want to be replaced, even though she overheard her supervisor's conversation with him on the phone. She goes to find her supervisor and tells him that she's already found out about the problem, so she'll go with him to verify that the company is producing the right amount of perfume. She's not sure why he wants her to continue as the coordinator, but she thinks he's just trying to get her to solve the problem. She tells him to go back to his company and find out what's going on with the other factories. He'll be there when they need him to be there. He tells her that they're going to go see a movie and then they'll talk about the whole thing. They'll all go to the company lobby and wait for her there. When she gets there, she finds out that she and her boyfriend are waiting for her outside the factory. She assumes that her boyfriend is on the other end of the phone with her.
