In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named Mingdi, who is a member of the Shenzhen Men's Athletic Club. Mingdi is the head of the Athletic Club's research and development team. He is also the manager of the company's maker factory, which makes shoes for various sports, including basketball. He and his team are testing a new generation of athletic shoes, which are lighter and more comfortable than the old generation's shoes. The old generation is impressed by Mingdi's ability to jump, dunk, and run in a full-court sprint. He asks Mingdi if he can help them test the cushioning of the new shoes, and Mingdi responds that he does not think anyone in the training camp could do such a feat. The two men discuss the fact that Mingdi received an invitation to join the Shenzhen men's team, but the coach of the team, Lin, did not return the invitation, so Mingdi sent a new invitation to Lin's camp.
