In this chapter, the protagonist is introduced for the first time. He is introduced as "whoosh" , and he is immediately envious of the protagonist's freedom. He tells the protagonist that he has found a way to earn money. The protagonist tells him that he and the protagonist are no longer "brothers" and that he is now earning money by selling ghost-catching services. He says that he can help people tame their spirits and ghosts, and that they will be able to afford luxurious cars, houses, and girls in the end. He explains that many protagonists in the comic books are poor, but with his ability to catch ghosts, they can get pretty girls and luxurious cars. He also says that the protagonist can get free drinks from the paranormal service agency, which he calls "buzz buzz" . He asks the protagonist if he can take a bus home, but the protagonist says that it is not the peak hour yet, so he will have to wait for the bus to pick him up. In the meantime, she tells him about strange things that have been happening at her house. She says that her husband, zhong, has been acting strange in the past month or so, but that he doesn't care for her. He has also become weaker, and she has gone to the hospital to see if he is sick.
