In this chapter, we learn that the main character of the story is a young boy. He is the son of the Great Great Grandfather, the ancestor of the Panda family. The Great Great Father tells the boy not to kill the boy because he has been "free-falling" for twenty minutes. He explains that his ancestors sent him and his family here to find their ancestors in the "massive world." The Great Father teaches the boy the secret of his family since he came to the world. He tells the story of the golden crows, who were killed by a kid named "yi hou" . The boy explains that after the golden crow was injured, it asked the ancestors for help and they ate it. The "pure yang power" of the Golden Crow then fused into blood of the ancestors. The power was passed down through the generations and now the descendants of the family possess the power.
