The next morning, Huo wonders if the monster can be defeated. He compares the monster to the walking corpses of the past 30 years, and wonders why they can't do the same thing. He tells Huo that he has never figured out a way to counter the monster's attacks. He points out that the creature's temperature is almost zero, which means that it can only attack at a very high rate of speed. Huo tells his son to stay behind and wait for the three of them to attack.
