In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist of the play is a college student who daydreams about becoming a famous actor. The protagonist's daydream is interrupted by the arrival of a talent scout who wants to hire the protagonist to star in a new commercial. The talent scout tells the protagonist that he will make the protagonist a "superstar" and the "dream lover" for all. The scene ends with the protagonist washing his or her face in the mirror.
