About This Chapter
The chapter opens with the two of them arguing over whether or not they should be allowed to "just let bygones" be bygones. The two argue about whether they should "leave you in there" to be "an unwanted third wheel" . The argument goes something like this: "I almost suffocated / so I should leave you to be an 'unwanted third wheel' . You mean them two?" . "What ? unwanted? third wheel?" "What? unwanted?" "You mean they two?" "Push i'll smooch you if you keeps shouting?" , the two men decide. "Actually ," the narrator tells us, "there was never i' mean xiao yu likes yiao qing" , but "i still like you." The two men agree that it's "a tiring day" for both of them. "Everything's fine," says the narrator, "and you should too," . He tells us that he's 20, and he doesn't want to let his mother "bear all the burden" alone. He wants to make money, he says, and he needs the help of his friends. The narrator tells him that his mom will support him if he asks her, and that he too will support her if he begs her when he next sees her. "I'm in," he says.
