He tells her that he'd like to see her tonight, but that he needs to find something else to occupy his time. He's not sure what else to do, but he's sure that she'll be fine with waiting for him to come back with her. The drummer says that he knows that the singer is a good musician, and that he can't refuse her request. But, he says, there's one thing that he doesn't want to do: wait for someone else to come and play for him. He says that if he had to wait, it would be a waste of time, since the drummer already paid for the room where the band was rehearsing. He adds that if the drummer had lived in the same room as the band, he could just play. But he says that's impossible, because the drummer would have to invite a stranger to live with him, and the band would die without him. So the drummer thanks him for doing such a dumb thing, and says that without him, they'd all be dead. He also says that the drummer has never done anything so stupid before, and he blames the drummer for one wrong move. But the drummer says, "I know I'm fucking awesome" , and asks why he didn't tell her sooner.
